Frederick County Public Schools is updating face covering guidelines for students, essential visitors and staff effective immediately in response to Governor Larry Hogan’s Executive Order and the subsequent Maryland Department of Health directive and order from May 14.
Inside of School Buildings – Face coverings are still required inside of all FCPS buildings, including without limitation, classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, auditoriums and gymnasiums.
Outside on School Grounds – Face coverings can be removed during recess, physical education classes and other activities outside of the school building as long as physical distancing can still occur. Students are still required to wear facial coverings if physical distancing cannot occur.Â
Spectators/Guests for Outdoor Events – Face coverings are recommended for all spectators/guests when physical distancing cannot occur.Â
**Note: Exceptions outlined in the Logistical Planning Guide still apply.
