Related to Country Inn & Suites April 16 Crime

 

FREDERICK, Md. (June 24, 2021) – Earlier today Frederick County Sheriff’s Office detectives successfully served an arrest warrant for Edward Dwimoh, age 18, of Frederick, for the April 16, 2021, murder of Malakai Tyrelle Cooke, a 17-year-old male from Brunswick, Maryland. The warrant included the charge of first-degree murder.

 

Tyree Haynes, age 20, of Frederick, is a second suspect in this murder and is already in custody. The charges for Haynes include first and second-degree murder and firearm use in a felony/violent crime. Both suspects are currently in holding at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

 

At approximately 2 a.m. on April 16, FCSO deputies responded to the Country Inn and Suites located at the 5500 block of Spectrum Drive in Frederick for a call of shots fired. Upon arrival, deputies found Cooke deceased on scene.

 

Through the use of video surveillance, witness accounts, and solid detective work, FCSO detectives successfully identified the two suspects and made the arrests without incident.
