Frederick County Board of Health Revises COVID-19 Regulations

The Frederick County Board of Health convened on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 to hear an update on COVID-19 in Frederick County and set revised health regulations. Regulation 01-2021 was approved by the Board of Health 7 to 1 and goes into effect in Frederick County at 5pm on Friday, March 26, 2021.

Regulation 01-2021 revised BOH 02-2020, which had been approved on November 24. Regulation BOH 01-2021:

  • removes restrictions on social gatherings involving 25 or more persons
  • adds a requirement for certain public gatherings of 100 or more persons to provide to the Health Department information about the gathering
  • no longer places occupancy limits on fitness centers or wedding venues

Face coverings and physical distancing are still required as outlined inGovernor Hogan’s Executive Order from March 9, 2021.

The approved regulations and meeting minutes will be available atwww.FrederickCountyMD.gov/BoardofHealth. The Board of Health comprises the County Executive and the County Council. The County Health Officer serves as the Executive Officer and Secretary of the Board.
