The Frederick County Fire Marshal’s Office has issued a ban on outdoor burning effective at 10:00am Wednesday, March 10, 2021, until Friday, March, 12 2021 at 10:00am. Recreational use, including outdoor cooking, is permitted.
The Department of Natural Resources has listed the fire danger for Frederick County as High due to high winds till Friday. Relative humidity will drop into the low 20’s and possibly teens today and tomorrow, while winds will begin to gust this afternoon and will continue gusting in the 20 mph range through Thursday afternoon ahead of a mainly dry cold front. These conditions will continue to elevate the risk and spread of wildfires.
