Brunswick Junior Railroaders Host Home Openers For Lacrosse

The beautiful springlike weather provided a welcomed backdrop as the Brunswick Junior Railroaders hosted their first home game last weekend.

7th and 8th Grade Team

The 7th and 8th grade team secured their first victory against Martinsburg, led by 3 goals each from Cohen Thompson, Austin Curry, and 2 goals and 1 assist from Jackson Kelley. Dominic Carusone scored 1 goal and had 4 assists, while Josh Gibson scored 1 goal and achieved over 50% faceoff wins. Westley Thomas scored a goal and 1 assist each was offered from Jacob Genos and Jamison Gdowski. Goalie Beau Andrew led the defense; as well as defensemen Mark Cooke, Colby Moore, and Alex Haste.

5th and 6th Grade Team

The 5th and 6th grade team played a hard-fought game against Hagerstown. The team totaled 6 goals with Luke Williams, Logan Kisselbach, and Luke Diehn all tallying 2 goals apiece. The team totaled 30 ground balls while Beau Andrews had an amazing 21 saves as goalie.

3rd and 4th Grade Team

The 3rd and 4th grade team played a close game against Hagerstown with first time goalie Drake Willet stepping in and making 9 saves. The team did an excellent job winning ground balls and was led on defense by Jackson Mills. Mills’ hustle led to multiple blocked shots.

1st and 2nd Grade Team

This was the big first game for the new players of the 1st and 2nd grade team. The team dominated the ground ball battle against LOUYAA with 47 won. While both Tyler Ewald and Blake Hargett found the back of the net with 1 goal apiece. In goal, Jedd Stoner shined with 4 saves.
