At the beginning of June, FCPS announced it’s annual changes of school staff. This year, we are losing BES Principal Justin McConnaughey.

Today, on his last day he sent the follwoing email that we would like to share with you here.

BES Families,

I hope this communication finds you and your family enjoying a wonderful start to the summer. With today being my last day as the proud principal of Brunswick Elementary, I wanted to extend my sincere gratitude for all of the well-wishes, gifts of appreciation, and most importantly for the positive connections that we have developed over the past 5 years. Each message, just like every individual connection, means so very much. My heart is full knowing the positive impact that has been realized during my principalship at BES.

I am so grateful for my 5 years serving and growing as the Principal of Brunswick Elementary; most certainly a time I will cherish and never forget! The connections and relationships that we have fostered together – all in an effort to serve our students and provide the absolute BESt for each and every one of them – are the foundations for our success together. Being Brunswick Strong isn’t just a saying…for BES, it has evolved into a description of our learning environment and culture that communicates, “we are resilient, we are kind, and we will ALWAYS DO OUR BEST!”
